( The wind's too loud to hear anything at first, catching the earpiece at exactly the wrong angle. Then Alex waves, smiling with that glassy eyed look that significantly tipsy people can end up wearing. It's dark behind her, but anyone very, very familiar with the skyscraper rooftops in Nova City will recognize she's on one of them. )

Hiii! Oh, it is... so not as cold up here as I expected!

( She laughs a little, throwing her hands up into the air and stumbling forward to likewise toss her arms around part of a metal structure, possibly a radio tower. Alex rests her head on it, her laughter trailing off as she smiles, a little bittersweet. )

I wanted to send a message. A big one! A big... message. So I thought, what if you had a lot... I mean a lot of power behind a radio signal? Won't that do something? We just want to be heard...

( Her eyes close, and it doesn't seem like she's doing anything. Then the tower starts to hum, lighting up with a soft sort of glow under her hands. Anyone tuned into its frequency will hear a humming too, almost like static feedback, that starts to sound more like a heartbeat. Hers. Then a clearer message with that beating in the background: Echo. Come in, Echo.

Then it really starts to glow, until the whole radio tower is a beacon of light. There is no way for the tower to handle that much energy for long. Alex's brow furrows as she's swallowed by the light, the overpowered radio signal shooting up a moment later, all the light abruptly going out as it fizzles upward, a misleading manifestation of what went without being visible to most eyes. Alex is left clinging to a partially melted structure, pushing herself away to stand, swaying. )

... Did that... oh. I don't... feel so good...

( Which is when she goes boneless, dropping out of frame to hit the rooftop in a muffled thud, close to passing out. Luckily her earpiece is still recording! ... About four feet higher than her current head level. Enjoy your scene of a warped radio tower and the otherwise unremarkable rooftop, Etraya. )

Hey, listen up.

[He hates doing announcements. Even as Board Chairman he tried to avoid them whenever possible and let his city's communications department handle disseminating notices. Unfortunately, there isn't anyone else here like that who can do this, so the responsibility falls to him. Besides, it's a distraction from certain thoughts that keep invading his head — events in San Francisco, certain Etrayans disappearing, his ribs still aching.]

A while ago this brat and I were using Ramsay Farm as a space for kids. Most of them are gone now, but since kids still show up sometimes I'm opening it back up for that. The fridge is stocked, there are a couple of bedrooms, and a security system's been installed. There are some farm animals the bots have been taking care of, too.

If you're 15, 16 or 17 you can hang out, but only if you're willing to help out around the place. Cleaning, guard duty or whatever, I don't care as long as you're pulling your weight and not being a leech. Anyone younger can just hang out.

If you're 18 or older then you can come do work, and only if someone under 18 vouches for you not being a creepy shithead. You're not allowed to be a loafer. If you've got an age that doesn't line up with modern human legalities then go by your cognitive development and stick yourself into one of these categories: kid, teenager, adult. Then apply the rules based on where you fall.

If any teens or adults break any rules or if anyone messes the farm up, including the gravestone on property, I'll beat the shit out of you. This is your one warning.

[He isn't sure if he'll ever get used to giving warnings, but he knows it's better than the alternative of just attacking someone out of nowhere because they broke a rule. Violence is the easy answer for him, and he's making a concentrated effort not to take the easy way out.]

There aren't really places around here just for kids, and adults are usually really shitty, so getting a break from them can help.

[ Today is a... complicated one for Ardyn, to say the least. No one but him knows why though and he'll likely keep it that way.

He has, however, gotten extremely drunk about it and that lends itself to him asking a query on the Etrayan network: ]

I prefer problems that bite back or explode in my hands, but it seems difficult to call that work in a place where every need is already seen to.
